On this page, you will find a collection of quality resources from the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU).

Introduction

Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) is a non-profit organization of higher learning institutions that are primarily concerned with open and distance learning (ODL). It strives to widen the educational opportunities available to all people in Asia and to improve the quality of the institutions in terms of their educational management, teaching and research. AAOU has released its quality framework assuring quality in policy and planning that should include variables relating to institutional vision, missions, policies and strategies, planning, monitoring, stakeholder participation, and commitment to learners. The ODL system should be able to determine its vision, missions, policies and strategies to ensure that the provision of ODL meets specified academic commitments and the needs of society.

Quality Assurance Framework

The Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU), a prominent organization representing distance higher education (DHE) institutions across Asia, is dedicated to enhancing the quality assurance of DHE. Consequently, AAOU has developed and advocated a quality assurance framework for adoption by all its associate and full members.
