As an NGO in consultative partnership with UNESCO, ICDE can endorse or nominate candidates for prestigious UNESCO awards.

The UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development was created in 2008 to support teaching and learning quality in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 on quality education, a UNESCO priority. Read more about the prize and how to get nominated.

The Prize is awarded every two years to three winners whose projects aim to improve the performance and effectiveness of teachers.

It is generously supported by the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences of the United Arab Emirates. Each of the prize-winners will receive a certificate and US$ 100,000.
