Go to event websiteWith only five years remaining until 2030, what should Norway be doing to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal of inclusive education and lifelong learning for all?
Despite boasting a highly educated population, Norway has some way to go to increase the pace of adaptation for skill development in the workplace. What can we learn from countries that excel in lifelong learning, and how can we improve knowledge sharing nationally and internationally?
Norwegian businesses lack competency at all levels. Digitalisation and technological development have increased the need for digital skills, and there is a significant need for employees with vocational and technical education. 7 out of 10 companies lack competence in artificial intelligence. Norway should do more to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4 and promote opportunities for lifelong learning for everyone.
In this Kristiania Breakfast Seminar, we explore the following questions:
- What measures are key players in the Norwegian education sector implementing in order to share knowledge and experiences across institutions, sectors, and borders?
- Is Norway open enough to learn innovative methods from other countries that excel in lifelong learning?
- What more can Norway do in the next five years to fulfill its commitment to lifelong learning for everyone?
The panel will provide insights from central voices in the debate, as well as perspectives from Dr. Julie Lindsay, a visiting expert on international collaboration from the University of Southern Queensland and Kyrre Lekve, leader for the UNESCO Commission in Norway.
