Announcement of the next ICDE Board
The elections among members for the ICDE Board 2026-2029 took place from 12 September to 16 October, and the results were officially announced during the closing session of the 30th ICDE World Conference in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The three newly elected members of the ICDE Board are:
Kgomotso Moahi
Botswana Open University
Continuing Board members
The continuing members of the Board until the end of 2027 are: Mark Nichols (President), Mpine Makoe and Andreia Inamorato (individual member representative).
ICDE extends its deepest appreciation to outgoing Board Members, Ebba Ossiannilsson, Melinda Bandalaria and Neil Fassina for their significant contributions and dedicated support of ICDE during their time on the ICDE Board.
The role of the ICDE Board
The ICDE Board is responsible for implementing Member Referendum resolutions and making policy decisions in accordance with the current strategic plan, constitution and applicable regulations. The Board also oversees the association’s financial position and ensures that the administration, accounts and asset management are subject to satisfactory control. Furthermore, the Board appoints and instructs ICDE’s committees and decides on the annual membership fee.
The Board is composed of six elected members, one of whom is elected by the individual members of ICDE, and five by the institutional members. Members hold office for four years, with elections held every two years for three positions. Board members may be re-elected for a second term of 4 years, according to the ICDE Constitution.
