Background to the strategic plan
During 2008, ICDE commissioned an Environmental Scan to examine the key global trends in higher education, adult education and distance learning. This document, together with discussions with member institutions at the Commonwealth of Learning conference in London in July 2008, and at the SCOP meeting in Shanghai in October 2008, provided ICDE with a framework within which its strategic plan could be developed.
The strategic plan in its final form was presented to members at the SCOP meeting in Barcelona in November 2009.
